Aberdeenshire East by-election - October 2025
The Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) and Aberdeenshire Council are currently running a by-election for two seats in the Aberdeenshire East constituency.
The timeline for this election is as follows:
- Applications close - Wednesday 1st October 2025
- Online candidate meeting - approximately 2nd or 3rd October 2025
- Candidate profile development - 2nd - 18th October 2025
- Candidate profile submission deadline - Tuesday 28th October 2025
- Voting opens - Monday 3rd November 2025
- Voting closes – Sunday 9th November 2025
- Results will be announced shortly after voting closes.
The Scottish Youth Parliament will be holding online MSYP induction training during the week beginning 1st December. Details will be sent to successful candidates following the results announcement.
