Cunninghame South
Why do you want to be an MSYP?
I want to be an MSYP for Cunninghame South as I want to help young people in the community and the country. Every day we face different issues that are out of our control, and you may not know how to address them to the people in charge. I want to be part of the bridge that allows everyone to have their voices heard by decision makers, as your opinion matters. I have 3 key issues I want to focus on: Mental health: I want there to be better support for all young people. Youth work: Creating more local and national opportunities within your community so everyone feels included. Youth poverty: Fighting financial barriers so no one starts life at a disadvantage. I want to make a lasting difference that benefits generations to come.
How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?
My plan to gather your influential views:
I will regularly check in with all types of youth groups.
I will be out in public and visiting all academies (Irvine, Kilwinning, Greenwood, St Matthew’s, Auchenharvie and Lockhart) and communities to gather your views. This will include Kilwinning College and Kilmarnock College.
I will also put up online polls and questionnaires to collect your views.
Why should someone vote for you?
You should vote for me as I am not running on false promises. I am running on a national platform and I am planning on expanding this by listening to everyone’s opinion and making them feel welcome. There is no issue that would be too big or too small that I would want to support you with.
A vote for me means choosing an MSYP who actively focuses on young people and:
Mental Health
Youth Work
Youth Poverty
Your Key Problems
I don’t just want to have a small impact, I want to be the MSYP that help young people, and the people in charge, so that they relate to each other.
