East Kilbride
Why do you want to be an MSYP?
I want to be an msyp for the people of East Kilbride, as I am proud to apart of our community and want to give back to it. But most of all i want to improve it for others. I feel that our society views young people as “less important” even though we are a significant percentage of our population and I want to prove to others that we can make a change and difference as we are the future of our nation and deserve to make the changes that will inevitably affect us.
How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?
For people our age we don’t tend to use traditional methods of communication, this I feel like needs to be discussed and addressed. The way how I will communicate with you is by zoom calls or other forms of internet communication as I feel this could easily bring your problems to my attention.
I would also be happy to answer any questions if u see me in public, in the bus, train etc.
Why should someone vote for you?
You should vote for me as I know that it’s not just me who will help to fix East Kilbride, it’s everyone. And I say this as although we all have differing views, opinions. I have a strong belief if we can all work together our issues we will do excellent.
Another thing I am passionate about is work, I want to make sure that work is available for all people who want to find it, as I know many friends, family and peers who are currently looking for work while in full time education and I believe that if they have that passion and have the drive to work they should at least be awarded the opportunity to do so.
I also do believe that businesses should be offering more opportunities for young people who want to develop their skills but not go down the university route more apprenticeships as it feels like that is the future of skill development.
