Applications to stand in the 2026 Scottish Youth Parliament elections are now closed – voting will take place from 2nd – 15th November 2026
Clackmannanshire and Dunblane
Why do you want to be an MSYP?
I’m standing to become your next Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament because I want to ensure every single young person in our community feels seen, heard, and valued. For too long, important decisions have been made without truly representing the diverse backgrounds and lived experiences of young people. If elected, I will champion equality and diversity across all of our local campaigns, making sure that no voices are left behind. I also want to use the power of culture and media to bring us together creating platforms where we can share our stories, celebrate our differences, and shape a more inclusive future for Scotland.
How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?
I plan to consult young people by combining face-to-face support alongside digital tools
Be present within my school, and across Clackmannanshire. I will hold drop-ins for young people to come and speak with me during break and lunch. I could also visit local youth organisations such as OYCI or be present in other educational settings such as the college
2. Use digital tools: Create surveys across Google Classroom and use my school social media account to reach a wider audience to make sure I am getting the opinions and voices of everyone. I could also get support from CLD to promote this for me to reach further young people.
That way, whether someone is vocal in person or prefers to message quietly online, their voice directly shapes what I do as a MSYP.
Why should someone vote for you?
I’m asking for your vote because I care about equality, diversity, and youth culture. I will represent all young people especially those who usually get ignored. I’ll make sure your voice is heard loud and clear in a way that actually reflects who we are. People from ethnic minority backgrounds are far too underrepresented in local youth politics, and I want to change that. I'll make sure everyone in our little county of Clackmannanshire feels included, heard, and represented no matter their background.
