Clackmannanshire and Dunblane
Why do you want to be an MSYP?
I want to represent the young people of Clackmannanshire and Dunblane and help ensure their voices are heard. I want to understand the issues and concerns that matter most to young people and help make sure they are addressed. I believe young people’s opinions matter and that they should have a meaningful opportunity to influence decisions that affect their lives. I particularly care about education, transport, and young people’s health and wellbeing, as these can have a significant impact on their opportunities and quality of life. I am passionate about social change and want to play an active role in making a difference in my community. In my lifetime, I have already seen positive change, such as free bus travel for young people, showing me how decisions can have a real impact.
How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?
I am involved in groups locally and, if elected, will visit schools and colleges to understand young people’s concerns in the area. I plan to bring young people’s issues to the local MSP if elected. I also plan to listen to concerns through my social media accounts. I will make every effort to respond to every concern individually, where possible, and consult with existing youth groups.
Why should someone vote for you?
I want to represent the young people of the area, to improve local transport and bus services, to improve mental health services for young people, to improve the education of the local area, and to fight for your voice to be heard.
I'm committed to representing young people, not just during the election. I'm consistent in my efforts, and I stick with things even when they're difficult. I want to listen to young people and make sure their views are heard because there have been so many times when I haven't felt listened to, and I know how this feels. I want to represent young people who may not normally speak up, including neurodivergent young people, those with anxiety, young carers, and anyone else who feels they aren't being heard.
