Applications to stand in the 2026 Scottish Youth Parliament elections are now closed – voting will take place from 2nd – 15th November 2026
Dundee City East
Why do you want to be an MSYP?
I would like to be an MSYP because I am deeply passionate about the empowerment of us, as youth living in Dundee. I believe that with more exposure to opportunities, there will be a brighter hope for our future with youths feeling heard, represented and fulfilling. As a young person, currently in secondary school, I think there needs to be a rise in opportunities such as apprenticeships to reduce the number of youth who are currently not in education or employment. I believe as an MSYP in Dundee East constituency, I can drive change that addresses/ reduces the high rate of anti- social behaviour predominant in this area of our great city. We can bring the change the youth need.
How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?
I plan to consult with the youths via collaboration with existing youth groups I have already identified in the Linlathen & Douglas area.
Partnering with the youth in groups like: religious and educational groups and even other social groups that are well representative of all the ethnic communities will ensure that they feel heard and represented and that they do not have change they would like to make but have no way of communicating.
My aim is to make sure that every category of young people feel not only heard but understood and that their wants and needs are being listened to then taken into further consideration and fulfilled to the best of our ability.
Why should someone vote for you?
If you are tired of hearing complaints about: the statistics of high unemployment in youths, anti-social behaviour, young people resulting in bad habits, anti social behaviour and a lack of motivation amongst young people then you should vote for me.
My vision is to see young people like me , rise up with zeal and aspiration taking their rightful place, making sure that they maximise their potential.
I am assured that every individual youth in Dundee has many great attributes and skills within themselves and now is the time to show forth their greatness from within and let is shape our community.
A Vote for me, is a vote for a rise in opportunities for all youth, to shape the future of young people in Dundee East.
