Candidate Profile

Why do you want to be an MSYP?

As a young person myself I am very enthusiastic about helping young people (me). I want to improve the area in which I live. The government needs to give young people more individual agency and invest more into preventing young people from getting held back by costs.

How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?

Conveniently I am a young person in Stirling which makes this very easy. However if I am unsure about a particular issue I will ask the young people who I know and trust. I will stay in contact with the many youth organisations I am part of and speak to.

Why should someone vote for you?

The new restrictions on school chromebooks make no sense. I will ask that young people have full access to the digital resources that they need .

Young people should get subsidised access to the Peak. The council should provide affordable access to the sports facilities and third spaces that young people need.

I will ask that trains are made free with a Young Scot card just like buses as I will soon be ineligible for the Kid for a Quid scheme as I haven’t been to Aberdeen yet - and they are too expensive for everyone.

The social media ban on u16s should be lifted and that is something I will fight for, we need to be given the individual agency that we deserve.
