Candidate Profile

Why do you want to be an MSYP?

I want to become an MSYP as I’ve seen many things in East Lothian that I’ve wanted to change and I’ve always had a passion for making the places where I live better for the public but also people my age. I’ve had many friends I know struggling with many issues, and it inspired me to help and support young people in anyway I possibly can and to stand for election. I also have future plans in becoming an MP and being a member of SYP would teach me the skills need.

What are the issues that matter most to you?

Gaelic in schools

How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?

I’ve already have a few conversations with friends and younger people I know about topics they think need changing. I will continue having these conversations as it has helped me and I will also I will try have group discussions with lots of friends and also younger years that I support in my school.

Why should someone vote for you?

I think people should vote for me because I actually listen to people’s opinion and try my hardest to help/ support them. I’m always putting people’s ideas and opinions into account as I am very understanding and open minded. I’m also down to earth, kind, approachable, reliable and trustworthy and I always think of others before myself.
