Why do you want to be an MSYP?

I think I would make a very good MSYP because I feel strongly about giving young people a voice. I want to help and encourage young people to speak up when it comes to things that affect them. I am also very interested in Scottish politics. I care deeply about the environment and educating young people on how important it is to protect it. Also stopping short video addiction in young people I believe is very important as I think it affects most young people. I think it is really important , now more than ever, that people be treated equally and for people to look out for one another. I am really interested in the Scottish Youth Parliament and really want to contribute and represent East Kilbride

How will you consult with the young people in your area or organisation to ensure that they are represented well and their voices are heard?

I will talk to a wide variety of people in my school and community to understand what they want. I will seriously take into consideration what the young people I talk to want, along with contributing my own opinions and ideas.
I will talk directly to people in all of the different year groups to get a range of voices to represent. I will also try to set up indirect forums to help young people communicate with me.

Why should someone vote for you?

I am determined that I will dedicate as much time as possible to help young people. I will share the views of the young people in Scotland as well as contributing some of my own. I want to help people more than anything else and will give it all my effort.
I can speak in public confidently and I think I will be able to convey what young people think about certain issues very well. This is something I am very passionate about and feel really strongly about.
I am really interested in the Scottish Youth Parliament and want to help out. I will try my best with everything I do if I get into the youth parliament.
I think I am reliable and responsible so will take the parliament very seriously. I have good communication skills which I think would be very helpful in the youth parliament
